The Advertiser once again proves why it’s so important to support journalism with a report on…speed bumps

TRENT BARTLETT

Satirical newspaper The Advertiser has given us yet another reminder of the importance of journalism, filing a story with the headline ‘Are these Adelaide’s most hated speed bumps?’

Adelaide Mail is unable to bring you further details on this unfolding story as it is behind The Advertiser’s paywall and the place that we used to work at that paid for a subscription seven years ago finally changed their password.

We can, however, assume that given The Advertiser’s track record, it is likely that the newspaper mistook the speed bumps for an ABC TV Show and quickly fired off the article.

The article is already being hailed as a landmark moment in South Australian reporting, with some comparing the report to those being filed from the Los Angeles protests, with ‘Tiser journos being praised for their bravery in the face of a 40km/h speed limit.

Future reporting is expected to focus on “Adelaide’s most racist cul-de-sac”, and a Caleb Bond “think”piece about how woke pedestrian crossings are killing off small business and ruining Christmas.

The Advertiser was contacted for comment on the article, but they simply referred us to a series of tweets that they had screenshotted and passed them off as “comment”.
