Josh Frydenberg thanks Tammy from MyBudget for her assistance this week

Preparing the 2021-22 Federal Budget, Treasurer Frydenberg didn’t know where to start. ‘Bills were piling up on the kitchen table and I was avoiding all the calls from the debt collectors’, Josh revealed, ‘so I decided to reach out for some help from South Australia’s finest financial planners, MyBudget’.

Once we knocked off a few of the nation’s payday and Cash Converters loans, we could make some great investments in the economy

The Treasurer explained that he had seen their commercials on late-night TV whilst he was in Adelaide a few years ago. ‘It was the day that Jay Weatherill was really mean to me. I was alone in my hotel room, definitely not crying, when I saw their ad saying they could help anyone out with any size budget, so I decided to give Tammy a call earlier this week’.

‘I was thrilled to be a part of it’, exclaimed Tammy ‘once we knocked off a few of the nation’s payday and Cash Converters loans, we could make some great investments in the economy. Plus, you wouldn’t believe how much the Federal Government is spending on overdue DVD rental fines. I don’t even know where you can hire DVDs anymore. How are they doing this? What is going on? Who needs a copy of Austin Powers 2 for more than a week?’

The Treasurer announced ‘I’m ever so grateful for the help MyBudget and Tammy has provided me with this week, once we realised how much the country was spending on Foxtel and Candy-Crush in-app purchases, we sorted out what’s important, stopped living week to week, and now we can start living life again’.

When asked about how we can continue to recover from the massive debt, Josh said ‘Yep, we’re going to work on that. I’ll start packing my own lunch for work everyday and I’ll cut out that morning takeaway coffee, it all adds up, you know? By next budget we’ll be much better prepared, because Tammy saved the spreadsheet to a USB for me, so I’ll just do the old “copy and paste” next budget as I assume I will definitely still be the Treasurer’.
