Guy parks in left lane of Glen Osmond Road just to ruin everyone’s day

DAN SCHMIDT

Exactly one minute after the Clearway ends, Kurralta Park resident Glen O’Parker is parked for the rest of the day on the citybound side of Glen Osmond Road.

His reason? Evidently only for the pure joy he gets out of annoying other motorists, commuters and cyclists.

“Oh, I don’t need to park here,” Glen told Adelaide Mail reporters with a big smile on his face “I’m not visiting anyone or lacking a car space of my own, it’s just for the thrill I get of knowing I’m making everyone’s day just a little bit more inconvenient. The two lanes into the city effectively become one, all thanks to me.”

“I’ve been parked there all day! Sure, I could have just parked in that side street twenty metres away, but where’s the fun in that?”

Ash plans to leave his car there for nearly a full 24 hours until the Clearway begins at 7:00am again.

When asked what he planned to do with his time without a car, Glen responded “Oh, you know. Just normal everyday things that normal people like me do. Today I’ve got to push some pedestrian lights without crossing them, then go to the RAH just to have a look around, after that stop by some city caryards just to tell the salesmen how much more I know about the cars than them, and tonight I’ll call up fiveAA talkback with nothing really to say. You know, just regular stuff.”
